    Stand idea`s

I need some idea`s on a new tv stand. I have a 62" dlp tv that has it`s own stand with shelves underneath that i have components on. I have a HTM1D on the way and i am going to need a stand that the tv can sit on and the HTM1D will sit on the floor underneath. Other than making a simple stand myself does anyone have any suggestions on this.

    Thanks

My advice would be to leave things as is and have the HTM1D sitting on the floor about 2 feet in front of the DLP. Having a stand holding up the DLP and having the HTM1D directly below would hamstring the money you've spent to get the performance this center is capable of.

I agree with this approach. You want the HTM1D to breath as much as possible.

      Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, i don`t think this is fessible in my setup until i get a wall mountable tv.

I would get 1" MDF and build an arch style stand for the TV. If you double up the top shelf, and glue and nail them together, the 2" should more than hold up the TV.

Another option would be to make your top shelf, add some Vertical supports across the bottom and screw them together. After you have this all together, add your second piece of 1: MDF in the glue and nail fashion as noted above. Add yous sides, and the HTM1D could go under it.

Just a thought. I also agree about the breathing room for that speaker.

I don't understand why it's not feasible. Do you have space limitations with the room area in front of the TV?

Yes. Right now i am about 12 or 13 ft from the front of the tv to the listening position. The HTM1D is 23" deep. If i set it in front of the tv not only will it look out of place, there is a better chance of my dogs hitting it. There is an open rectangular area in front of the tv that is about 12x14 that i let a couple of my dogs hang out and wrestle on. I don`t have kids but i do have 4 dogs :B

P.S. Thanks for spelling feasible correctly :T
